Who we are

About MEDSEN

MEDSEN was born from a conviction: every Senegalese child has the right to quality health monitoring, regardless of their region, school, or family situation.

Why MEDSEN?

Senegal ratified the International Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1990. More than 30 years later, the school health system remains fragmented, largely relying on manual processes and paper records.

MEDSEN was born from the desire to translate Senegal's commitments into concrete actions, using technology to create a universal, continuous, and equitable monitoring system.

Our platform is not just a technical tool: it is a public policy instrument serving children, families, health professionals, and decision-makers.

The Senegalese context

6 million students enrolled (ages 3-18)

14 regions with different realities

Under-equipped School Medical Inspections (IME)

No unified national information system

UN reporting obligations on the CRC

Our values

MEDSEN is guided by fundamental principles that drive every decision.

Equity

Every child deserves the same level of care, whether in Dakar or Kedougou.

Protection

Health data is sensitive. We apply the highest security standards.

Collaboration

Schools, IME, families, and ministries work together on a shared platform.

Innovation

Modern technologies adapted to the realities on the ground in Senegal.

Leadership

International expertise serving Senegal

MEDSEN was founded by Ndeye Talla DIOUM, an engineer and graduate of CentraleSupelec (France), one of the most prestigious engineering schools in the world.

With international experience in digital health and information systems, she chose to put her expertise at the service of her home country, Senegal, with a clear vision: modernizing school health for every child.
