As a school health platform, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of security and confidentiality, in accordance with the International Convention on the Rights of the Child and Senegalese data protection legislation.
Data Collected
As part of our school health mission, we may collect:
- Identification data: last name, first name, date of birth, national student identifier (INE)
- Health data: medical assessments, vaccinations, allergies, individualized accommodation/support plans
- Contact data: contact details of legal guardians
- School data: school, class, grade level
Processing Purposes
Data is collected exclusively for the following purposes:
- Ensuring student health monitoring in accordance with Article 24 of the CRC
- Facilitating coordination between schools and health services
- Enabling parents to monitor their children's health
- Producing anonymized statistics for school health policy management
Health Data Protection
Health data benefits from enhanced protection:
- Encryption: all data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Restricted access: only authorized health professionals can access medical data
- Traceability: every access is recorded in an audit log
- Secure hosting: option for sovereign hosting in Senegal
Parental Consent
In accordance with Article 12 of the CRC (the child's right to be heard) and the protection of minors:
- Parental/guardian consent is required for all data processing
- Parents can access their children's data through the dedicated portal
- Consent can be withdrawn at any time
Data Retention
School health data is retained throughout the student's schooling, then archived in accordance with legal obligations regarding medical records. Data is deleted or anonymized at the end of this period.
User Rights
In accordance with applicable regulations, you have the following rights:
- Right of access: obtain a copy of your data
- Right to rectification: correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure: request the deletion of your data
- Right to object: object to the processing of your data
- Right to portability: receive your data in a structured format
Data Sharing
Data is only shared with:
- Authorized health professionals (IME doctors and nurses)
- Schools (non-medical data only)
- Health authorities (anonymized data for statistics)
No data is sold or shared for commercial purposes.
Security
MEDSEN implements appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, modification, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption, access controls, regular backups, and staff training.
